PCA is seeking a creative, inventive, and thoughtful designer with 10-15 years of experience to join our close-knit 70-person team and apply their knowledge in design and project management to create places for people in the New England Region.

The ideal candidate for the Design Architect position would have between 5-10 years of experience in the design of housing, urban mixed use, higher education, retail and new construction projects. A successful applicant would demonstrate a proficiency in client and team relationships, taking the time to nurture their connections both in and outside the office. This Design Architect would be a leader in the office’s design process, a key contact for clients, and knowledge-source for younger staff. Senior Technical Architect

PCA is looking for an architect with 10+ years of experience with a focus on technical quality control and construction administration. The ideal candidate would demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with clients, construction professionals, engineering consultants and internal team. Strong knowledge of technical detailing, building codes, and MEP systems coordination is required. A background in housing, higher education, retail, and new construction is strongly desired. Knowledge of Revit software a plus

The ideal candidate would demonstrate an ability to work independently and collaboratively on all phases of multiple architectural projects concurrently.  Strong design, technical, and communication skills (both visually & verbally) are essential.  Proficiency in SketchUp & Revit is required and he/she must be able to demonstrate a high level of design and technical ability.

Technical Interior Designer

PCA, a creative high-energy Architecture, Interior Design, and Planning firm of ~70 people, is looking for an experienced Technical Interior Designer with minimum 10 years’ experience (5+ years’ experience managing projects) in the industry. PCA seeks a full-time, mid to senior level person with a strong interior design sensibility and collaborative spirit to mentor technical growth for the Interiors group.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with clients, discuss design concepts and solutions and collaborate with team members. Strong knowledge of space planning, building systems, codes, accessibility, interior finishes, lighting, and interior technical detailing skills is essential.

Role would include advising on and reviewing drawings for constructability, code compliance, liability, and proper documentation. This person would also reinforce PCA standards, work with PCA’s Chief BIM Strategist, lead an internal education initiative, and act as a technical liaison between interiors & architecture. Proficiency in documentation in Revit is required, and a solid background in hospitality, housing, and higher education is strongly desired.

We anticipate this person to be a technical and quality control adviser and mentor on multiple interiors projects while at the same time working on one or two of their own interiors focused projects.
