The Longwood Group
Architecture and interior design of 171,244 SF apartment building with 132 units (122,814 SF), 5,000 SF of retail, 4,000 roof deck and parking for 107 cars and 132 bikes.
In a rapidly developing area of Boston, the Longwood Group sought to create a 195-unit multifamily building that would bridge the gap between bustling city life and tranquil parklands. The result is Serenity, a thoughtful new addition to the Boston skyline that acknowledges its urban context and makes a graceful transition from urban high rise to parkside townhouse scale.
In addition to overall architectural design and planning, the PCA interior design team designed and furnished all units and outdoor amenity spaces. In the units, residents are offered a choice of two sophisticated kitchen palettes to customize. A lighter scheme offers light countertops and backsplash with wood tone cabinetry while the darker scheme utilizes a dark backsplash and slate-gray counters with white cabinetry combinations.
Working closely with the architectural and landscape architecture team, the interior design team created elegant, restful outdoor amenity spaces including the barbeque patio and outdoor seating with indoor/outdoor fireplace at the 6th floor rooftop pool, as well as the private courtyard at the lobby level. Blending high rise apartment living transitioning to a park side townhouse scale, the design creates an oasis in a busy urban context, offering choice and a unique mix of units with access to attractive amenities.
