Au Bon Pain
Au Bon Pain sought to create a prototype for a café designed for a younger demographic in an edgier, urban environment.
The metro prototype was developed initially for the Metro Tech software office park complex in Brooklyn and for 111 Fulton Street in the Financial District of downtown New York City.
The design rethinks the Au Bon Pain image beginning with a rebrand of the name. Inside, a modern composition of neutral textures and colors, combined with stainless steel and gray-stained wood finishes is accented with small hits of Au Bon Pain’s brand yellow to create a sophisticated, crisp feel. Diagonal layouts and floor treatments create energy and attitude, with custom murals referencing site-specific street scenes.
The new design tips a hat to the brand heritage while adding a new, fresh quality that brings ABP to the next generation.
