B.Good Canadian Prototypes
Ontario, Canada
Client
b.good
Program
Create design guidelines for prototypes for roll-out of b.good’s brand expansion throughout Canada
Challenge
To design a flexible prototype for farm-to-table eatery’s entry into the Canadian market.
Solution
PCA’s design guidelines support the b.good brand with an organic, natural palette of rich earth brown and wood finishes that sets the background for vibrant punches of color. Green doors, bright red signage and umbrellas incorporate the brand colors while large, colorful murals depicting local farms providing the produce for each venue animate the space.
Communal tables, dining counter, bench and table seating, with an eclectic mix of modern versions of the farmhouse chair, offer a range of seating options for gatherings and on-the-go meals. Wooden benches with “burlap” upholstered backs add to the farmhouse feel.
Butcher block table tops, dark floors, heart pine and metal strapping on millwork playfully hint at farm inspirations, while twinkling string lights, goose neck lamps and industrial style pendants over the tables create a festive, outdoor feeling. The open kitchen, defined by a “tin” ceiling and a brick accent wall offers views of fresh from the farm meals being prepared, “real. food. fast.”
