Bertucci’s Prototype

Prototype Design

Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant

6,500 SF new prototype design for freestanding and in-line locations of this Somerville-originated national restaurant chain.

Bertuccis sought to reinvent their brand to make a shift from a family style pizza place to a more sophisticated restaurant and bar which would attract young working couples and singles as well as families.

The exterior is designed to suggest a Tuscan villa, with stone and stucco and outdoor seating for moderate spring and summer days. Inside, stand-alone tables, bar stools, long farm-house tables, and cozy booths offer a variety of seating options. The kitchen and wood-fired oven open out to the bar, engaging guests in food preparation as they socialize. Warm, vibrant colors, artwork and modern lighting help to establish a stylish and comfortable ambiance for lunch or an evening out.
