Relocation of family-owned restaurant within existing building to create a mix of seating – bar, seated-height, hi-top, banquettes and bar-height drink rail with an adjacent pool room. The design accommodates 160 seats in 3,700 SF.


The existing location for this family-owned restaurant was slated to be demolished to allow for the redevelopment of a key block within Boston’s Kenmore Square. The developer created space for them in an adjacent renovated building, taking over a former bagel shop and part of Boston University’s former newsroom.


Cornwall’s is a home away from home for staff and patrons. The goal was to keep Cornwall’s essence with modern and sophisticated updates, ready for the next generation to take over the business. New key design elements include a copper top bar, “British Racing Green” tile, wood flooring and a dedicated pool room.
