Design Solution
PCA designed the prototype for a new immersive-style café experience. Inspired by Fuel America’s 1950s mechanic’s garage logo and brand, the design makes use of raw, ‘industrial chic’ materials throughout, including raw polished concrete floors, exposed ceilings and wall structure, industrial light fixtures, metal and tile finishes, and artist Mark Grundig’s custom murals. Operable glass garage doors open up for tours of the back-of-house roastery and add to the overall theme.
The coffeehouse offers custom specialty coffees, fresh-pressed juices, baked goods, homemade breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and smoothies along with local micro-brewed beers and wine options. The flexible layout offers a variety of seating, from coffee bar, banquettes, tables and lounge seating, to high tops facing the streetside and the roastery.
