Cambridge, MA

Interior fit-up of 3,500 SF member-only incubator space for emerging startups and investors to work collaboratively. PCA helped to guide the image of the InTeahouse brand and incorporate those elements throughout the design of the space.

InTeahouse brings together entrepreneurs, researchers, faculty and students to create an environment of opportunity. Bringing the ideals and practices of the ancient teahouse to some of the world’s most innovative and progressive hubs, InTeahouse seeks to provide a setting that “fosters connections and fuels the conversations that make innovation happen”.

Establishing their presence in Cambridge’s high tech innovation corridor, the renovations create highly flexible collaborative space attractive to young entrepreneurs. Shared offices, conference rooms, a working lounge, open plan meeting areas and workspace are furnished with whiteboards and movable tables, chairs and stools, encouraging people to gather in a range of settings that allow ideas to happen anywhere and everywhere. A formal tea room provides the setting for InTeahouse’s tradition of finding common ground over steaming cups of tea in a comfortable, welcoming environment.

The renovated space unifies finishes and furnishings to provide a branded setting for 26 workstations and 30 seats in shared offices, hosting up to 10 companies at a time since work was completed in early 2016.
