Kirkbrae Country Club

Lincoln, RI

The membership is thrilled by the club beyond their expectations. PCA managed an ambitious program with budget constraints, to give us everything we asked for and more. I’m delighted!

Program

50,000 SF private clubhouse and public banquet / conference center

Challenge

Renovate and expand a clubhouse to better serve membership and generate additional revenue. Conform to zoning requirements and complement neighboring residential context.

Solution

The design created a two-story 50,000 SF building reflecting a New England vernacular, with human scale elements such as gable-trussed roofs, wrap-around porches and walls of native stone. The private golf clubhouse and public banquet/conference center are joined, yet lead separate lives serving different groups. Each area is served by a central kitchen and support services while functioning as distinct entities.

Result

The open, light-filled clubhouse connects its members to the landscape they love and has created a premiere golf club as well as a welcoming public function facility.
