Mashpee Commons
Mashpee, MA
It’s the feeling of place, and it’s the feeling of community, and it’s running into people on the street. It’s civilization!

Challenge
Convert an existing 1960’s-style strip mall located at a prime gateway to Cape Cod into a retail center attractive to visitors and locals alike.
Solution
Expand the scope of a traditional retail center by incorporating retail, civic, commercial, residential, and religious buildings into a cohesive Town Center. Buildings are designed in the fashion of a New England Village, with tree-lined streets and park benches fostering a friendly, human scale environment.
Result
Mashpee Commons set a new standard for mixed-use and lifestyle developments. Two decades later, the development continues to serve Mashpee’s residents and drive local businesses.
