100,000 SF shopping center Completed 2000
Modeled after a traditional New England town center, the Settlers’ Green Outlet Village is a 100,000 SF expansion of a retail center in North Conway, New Hampshire. The new construction has pitched roofs, traditional wood detailing, and large storefronts that are part of the approach to the town-like design. In order to minimize the mass of the new, larger tenants, the program was divided into six buildings. Shoppers are encouraged to leave their cars in one of four smaller parking lots, enabling them to experience the center on foot.
Covered pedestrian walkways, landscaped courtyards, and a 2-story children’s playground near a gazebo are incorporated into the design, enhancing the shoppers’ overall experience. The initial project opened in November 1997, with subsequent buildings added in 1999 and 2000.
A mountain-themed play area was added in 2014 along with additional seating areas.
